Dr. Kristopher Skromme
Optometrist and Owner of Two Trees Optometry
Dr. Skromme went to University of California Santa Barbara and has been practicing optometry for over 10 years in Ventura. He graduated with clinical honors from the New England College of Optometry, in Boston, Massachusetts and received numerous scholarships and honors for academic achievement.
He was selected to perform internships at leading eye clinics across the nation and earned the prestigious California Optometric Association’s Young Optometrist of the Year Award in 2014. ​Dr. Skromme was also awarded 2014 Optometrist of the Year in the Tri-County for providing superior care to his patients, community and the profession of Optometry.
Dr. Skromme is past president of the Tri-County Optometric Society which represents approximately 300 eye doctors in Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties.
In 2012, Dr. Skromme traveled to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti on a mission trip with a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life by providing cataract surgeries and optometry to those in need in war-torn and disaster-stricken areas.
Dr. Skromme is married and has 2 young children. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with the family, playing sports and walking his Boston terrier.

Dr. Morgan Ruiz
Associate Optometrist
Dr. Ruiz was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA where she began her undergraduate studies at Santa Barbara City College and was on the President's Honor Roll. From there she transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara receiving her Bachelors of Science in Biological Sciences.
After graduating from UCSB she earned her Doctorate of Optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA. Dr. Ruiz received the Hispanic Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Clinical Patient Care and was a part of the BSK Optometry Honor Society while at SCCO.

Dr. Ruiz has been working in the Optometry field for over 10 years. She began as a receptionist and also worked as an optometric assistant in multiple private practices. Now she is very enthusiastic and happy to be working as an Optometrist and helping people on a daily basis.
Previous experience includes seeing patients in various settings such as San Diego Naval Medical Center, the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Las Vegas, NV and an Indian Health Site in New Mexico. She has also worked at practices in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara and Ventura County.

Dr. Ruiz is glaucoma certified in the state of California. She was on the board of the Tri-County Optometric Society (TCOS) from 2014 to 2016 where served as Vice President and then President. During that time she received the Young Optometrist of the Year Award in 2016. She loves spending time at the beach, in the outdoors and with her family and friends.
Dr. Robert Pazen 1937-2018
Dr. Pazen graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry USC in 1962. In 1965, after serving in the U.S. Air Force Dr. Pazen started practicing in Ventura.

He was actively involved in the community. He served as President of the East Ventura Rotary Club, former president of the Tri-County Optometric Society, Director of Professional Affairs and Peer Review. He was also member of Ventura Chamber and many other organizations
Dr. Pazen was the first eyecare professional to receive the Vision Care Specialist of the Year Award, by the Ventura County Medical Resource Foundation at the 21 Annual Dr. David Fainer and Dr. Leo Tauber Awards Dinner.

Dr. Pazen was twice voted Optometrist of the Year by the Tri-County Optometric Society, and selected by the Ventura Star newspaper as it's Reader's Choice Award Recipient for Best Optometrist, year after year.
Sherri
Sherri has been with Two Trees Optometry for 11 years! She began as an Optometric Technician and is now our Front desk and Insurance Specialist. She ensures all of the needed documentation for your appointments are in order. She has a warm personality and a contagious smile! She brings her motherly touch and bright spirit into the workplace. Sherri likes to be creative and works on many crafts.
Gina
Gina, our Office Manager has been with our Two Trees family for over 15 years! She graduated from California Polytechnic State University, SLO and has her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry. Her strong will and determination helps to maintain the flow and the integrity of our office. She strives to create a welcoming and relaxing environment. Gina loves spending time with her husband, children, family and friends.
Julia
Julia has been with Two Trees Optometry for 12 years and is an integral part of our team. She is our lab manager and our lead Optician. Not only is she an artist during the frame selection process, she is an expert with coatings, and insurance copays. She takes a thoughtful approach to ensure the highest quality of materials while taking in consideration the patient’s budget. In her free time, Julia spoils her Corgi-Pit Mix and enjoys baking.
Mariana
Mariana has been in the optical field for 8 years. She is one of our most experienced and helpful opticians that will take care of all your eyewear needs. Whether it be from problem solving, to knowing the latest eyewear in the market, she has you covered. Mariana enjoys most of her time playing soccer with friends, going to sporting events, and most importantly spending time with her son. She also loves everything and anything Disney!
Oni
Oni has been a loyal member of the Two Trees Optometry family for 4 years and uses her organizational skills with many of our behind the scenes functions. She is one of our tremendous opticians with a huge heart and a big smile! On her spare time, Oni and her husband help run a farm and she loves to paint.
Heather
Heather has worked in the Optometry field for seven years. She currently is an Optometric Technician and also has her American Board of Opticianry License. She has a strong passion for all things eye related and uses her skills to aid in the preliminary testing of medical examinations as well as glaucoma checks. She is enthusiastic and a team player! On the weekends, Heather is doing plenty of reading or playing in the local basketball pick up games.
Elia
Elia, our Assistant Office Manager and contact lens specialist, has been in the optical field for over 7 years. She guides our patients through the check-in process and helps to maintain the overall office experience. She speaks fluent Spanish, and is exceptional with little ones as she has two of her own! She is warm, kind and hospitable. Elia loves going to the beach and spending time with her fiancé and two kids.
Nichole
Nichole has been in the optical field as an Optometric Technician for 5yrs. She previously came from ophthalmology where she specialized in testing for glaucoma. She enjoys engaging with patients and getting to know them. On her free time, she loves being with her family and having self care days to unwind.
